EPOXY ARMOR FLOOR
Our Armor Floor Epoxy differs from the epoxy you can buy in a store. Most retail-grade epoxies are water-based, have fragile single coats, don't have a urethane-fortified epoxy topcoat, and have a high abrasion loss rating. Most of the time, this leads to a bad finish and the coating on your tyres coming off quickly. When you go to the trouble and cost of putting an Armor floor epoxy coating on your floor, you want it to stay on your floor and keep looking new for a long time.
Armor-floor-epoxy, also known as Armor epoxy, is a 100% solids aliphatic epoxy with a military-grade. This epoxy is better than both water-based and cyclioaliphatic epoxies. Our topcoats come in two different types. Our standard topcoat has an abrasion loss rating of 20 mg, while our military-hardened topcoat has the best rating in the industry at 4 mg.
Armor Chip and Armor Granite Armor floor epoxy are not sold in home improvement stores or other retail stores. Instead, they are military-grade epoxy floor systems that anyone can install in just a few hours. When done right, an Armor floor epoxy can last 15 to 20 years.
What is a topcoat? What is an abrasion loss rating? A topcoat is the last layer you put on top of the epoxy to protect it and the colour flakes if you are using them. The base epoxy coating is very different from the topcoat. It should have urethane in it to protect against UV rays and make it harder to protect against wear. The standard test for abrasion loss in the industry is the Taber C-17 test. This is done by running a weighted grinding wheel over the coating for a long time and measuring how much epoxy is taken off. The less material that is worn away, the better the abrasion resistance. Armor epoxy sold in stores has an abrasion loss rating of 25 or higher. Coatings with these low abrasion resistance ratings don't do much to protect tyres or small wheels from scratches and wear from abrasion. So you might be able to find and use an epoxy that won't fail because of hot tyres, but the nice high-gloss finish won't last long. epoxy-flooring
Don't be fooled by clear epoxies with UV additives sold as topcoats. These are a waste of time and money because they don't protect against wear any better.
An Armor epoxy flooring kit's calibrated squeegee helps you apply the epoxy at the correct mil thickness. Our final coatings are the industry's thickest, giving your product a stunning, long-lasting, deep lustre finish that will seem brand new even after years of use. Our Armor Chip kit and Armor Granite kit, which has a floor finish that looks like real granite, come with the most colour chips.
